WebParathyroid hormone (also called PTH) controls how much calcium is in your blood and within your bones. The release of PTH is turned on and off depending on the levels of calcium in your blood. For example, if the blood level of calcium becomes low, the parathyroid glands will release more PTH. WebSerum calcium levels were10.36 ± 1.0 mg/dl vs 9.7 ± 0.6 mg/dl (P < 0.01) for symptomaticand asymptomatic groups, respectively. The symptomatic group was older than others (P < 0.05). Serum intact PTH level was similar between groups. There was no significant difference in terms of age,serum calcium and iPTH levels in group 1,2 and 3.
